I have a relatively young install of Windows 10 and Office 365 (Office 2016).My initial problem was that, although I was able to select the Microsoft 'Print to PDF' driver (and the pdf printer was installed), I was not actually able to 'print to pdf' from any application (Office or otherwise; a dialog box would appear and instantlydisappear and no file, save as). After a long journey with MS support, I ended up doing a 'windows 10 upgrade in place' which, although time consuming, replaced whatever files/drivers had become corrupted and the 'print to pdf' driver was then working;problem solved!Now, only a couple of weeks later, the problem has recurred again. I can remove the 'Microsoft Print to PDF' feature in Windows Features, but I cannot reinstall.

Please reboot your computer and try again.Error code: 0x800F0922I do not want to do another 'upgrade in place' as it does not seem to be directly addressing the problem. What I'm wondering is what exactly is the name of the Windows 'Print to PDF' driver and where is it located in Windows? I figure I couldthen copy it from another Windows 10 computer to this computer and, perhaps, that would fix the problem.Any ideas would be most appreciated!Thanks.

I found a similar article and did as it suggested, running DISM.exe, however, unfortunately, it did not resolve the problem nor detect any errors.It is something to know that it is a known issue, I suppose.That is why if I could find out the PDF driver file name, I could copy it from another PC (where Print to PDF works fine) and see if that resolves the issue; it is too much to repeat the 'install upgrade in place' just to fix the Print to PDF driver.Thank you againMike.

Hi Mike,Thank your for explaining what you did and thought.But I'd like to confirm whether your problem has been resolved. I'm so poor with English, not sure I can understand what you mentioned.I suppose it would not be the best way that you copy some file from another PC, for one application or driver consists of more than one file, usually. After the 'refresh install', the Microsoft Print to PDF driver did function correctly, however, it seems that after thenext Windows Update (I am guessing here at cause and effect) it broke once again.My feeling is that it is like shooting a mouse with a cannon to go through the entire reinstall of Windows 10 just to fix the Print to PDF driver. While it is time consuming and indirect, it does work; the only major drawback is that, for me, the fixwas only temporary.I may try it one more time and see if the fix sticks.
